    There are thousands of roses in cultivation today. Each plant has it's own "personality" so to speak.

    Some grow vigorously and bloom in the dappled shade under tall trees.

    Others need a minimum of 8 hours of direct sun lest they die.

    Some roses spot up and defoliate every time rain is forecast. There are others on which you will be hard pressed to find a diseased leaf.

    The best way to shop for roses that are suitable for the growing conditions in your yard is online at websites like the one you are currently looking at.

    You can find out how vulnerable a plant is to the various rose diseases and rose pests from the comfort of your living room.

    Beyond cultivar selection, rose plant health is determined by:

    1. The condition of the soil they are planted in.

    2. The amount of sun they get.
